PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound probe with enhanced heat dissipation which can provide output sufficient for inspection while satisfying temperature regulations.SOLUTION: An ultrasound probe includes a thermal drain across which heat is thermally conducted from an ultrasound transducer to an outer polymeric casing wall of the ultrasound probe. The thermal drain has a thermal conductivity of at least 150 watts per meter kelvin (W/(m K)). The outer polymeric casing wall 42 is formed by overmolding one or more polymeric materials about, and onto external surfaces of, the thermal drain. |
