PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which indicates development color tone of yellow, has high color optical density, and is superior in a keeping quality and light resistance of coloring image.SOLUTION: A thermal recording medium with a thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor and developer on a backing contains the dye precursor having pyridine skeleton for a molecular structure specific as the dye precursor. The dye precursor having the pyridine skeleton is preferable to be chosen one kind from the following group: 4-[2-(2-butoxyphenyl)-6-phenyl-4-pyridinyl]-N, N-dimethylbenzeneamine; 4-[2-(2-pentyloxyphenyl)-6-phenyl-4-pyridinyl]-N, N-dimethylbenzeneamine; and 4-[2-(2-hexyloxyphenyl)-6-phenyl-4-pyridinyl]-N, N-dimethylbenzeneamine. |
