<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce toner consumption and operation time while maintaining the suitable density of solid images as well as halftone images, even when the light intensity cannot be accurately grasped according to an operation state such as the case of an LED head.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus switches between a first control mode and a second control mode of developing control means for adjusting one or more of imaging conditions (developing bias, charging bias, and exposure intensity) according to the operation states (continuous operation time, temperature inside apparatus or the like) of the image forming apparatus. In the first control mode, the developing control means forms only solid patches and sets the imaging conditions from the density of the solid patches, and in the second control mode, forms the solid patches and halftone patches and sets the imaging conditions from the density of both patches.</p> |
