PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce solid residues jetted out of an inflator by improving adsorption efficiency for the solid residues.SOLUTION: There is provided an inflator 11 which generates a gas for expanding an air bag. The inflator 11 includes a pressure vessel 2, an ignitor part, and a gas generating agent 5. The pressure vessel 2 has a base 2c and a diffuser part 2a which has a gas exhaust nozzle 2aa for exhausting the gas generated in the inflator to the outside. The ignitor part accommodates a transfer charge 4 and an ignitor 3 and the gas generating agent 5 is accommodated in a gas generating agent charging part 12 on an outer peripheral side of the ignitor part. The inflator 11 includes a filter 6 provided along a side wall internal surface of the pressure vessel 2 between the pressure vessel 2 and gas generating agent charging part 12. An adsorption member 14 for solid residues included in the gas is arranged, for example, on a diffuser side and a base side of the gass generating agent charging part 12. Consequently, the solid residues in the gas exhausted from the inflator are reduced to reduce damage to the air bag. |
