A battery pack for supplying power to an electronic device by which processing speed is improved instantly with a higher peak discharge power than in a normal state, wherein the battery pack is characterized in being provided with: a group of cells in which a plurality of secondary cells are connected in series; a detection unit for switching, by using an electronic circuit, between the value of a charging/discharging current flowing in the group of cells and the voltage value of the group of cells, and detecting the current value and the voltage value by way of time division; and a control/computing unit for performing computation and control using the current value and voltage value detected by the detection unit, the detection unit detecting the current value before and after the voltage value of the group of cells is detected, and the control/computing unit determining that the voltage value of the group of cells has been affected by the peak discharge power when at least one of the current values has exceeded a prescribed threshold. |
