Provided is a field-sequential liquid crystal display device which can suppress the occurrence of color shift. This field-sequential liquid crystal display device is provided with a responsive minimum color difference data correction unit (122) which corrects data values of pixel data of colors outside of a displayable range to values of colors inside of the displayable range, a tristimulus value-digital gradation value conversion unit (124) which converts the corrected pixel data to digital gradation data, and a digital gradation data correction unit (126) which performs drive correction for overdrive on the digital gradation data. The responsive minimum color difference data correction unit (122) calculates a color in the displayable range in the uniform color space having a minimum color difference from the pre-corrected color, and the value obtained by converting the data indicating said calculated color to data expressed in the RGB color space is set to the data value of the corrected pixel data.
