MICROGRID CONTROL APPARATUS

The amount of energy generation 90 and energy storage 100 equipment connected to centralised grids 20 by end users 30 is expected to increase in the future. Electricity transformers/substations 40, have only limited capacity and are not designed for reverse energy flow due to electricity generation by an end user 30. The rising trend for home generation may cause damage to such transformers/substations 40, and may prove very costly to replace. The present invention relates generally to a microgrid control apparatus 70, method and system for controlling energy flow within a microgrid 60 such that reverse flow through a transformer/substation 40 is minimised.
