Provided are: a mounting structure for an auxiliary brush, the mounting structure being adapted for use in a self-propelled cleaner, the mounting structure preventing a failure in the self-propelled cleaner and not causing a reduction in the cleaning efficiency thereof; and a self-propelled cleaner provided with the mounting structure for an auxiliary brush. A mounting structure for an auxiliary brush (10) is provided with: a rotating shaft (2a2) which is installed in a recess (2a1) provided in the bottom surface of the housing (2) of a self-propelled cleaner (1); and an auxiliary brush (10) which is mounted to the rotating shaft (2a2). The auxiliary brush (10) has: a brush base (10a) which is affixed to the rotating shaft (2a2) so as to be fitted in the recess (2a1) with a gap (G) provided therebetween; and a brush bundle (10b) which is embedded in the brush base (10a). The mounting structure for the auxiliary brush (10) is characterized in that a restriction member (F) which prevents fibriform substances from entering the gap (G) is disposed in or near the gap (G).
