PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant composition and flame-retardant resin composition being excellent in compatibility with a resin composition and allowing suppression of poor appearance and reduction in mechanical strength even if the contained resin composition is stored for a long-term.SOLUTION: The present invention is a flame-retardant composition containing a modified metal oxide nanoparticle characterized by being modified by a functional group represented by the following formula (1) and containing a fluorine compound. (1): MOS(=O)-R-Si(CH)(-O-){where M is a hydrogen ion, an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 4, a metal ion or an ammonium (NR) group; Ris an alkylene group having a carbon number of 1 to 10 (the alkylene chain may contain an urethane bond or an urea bond), -CH(CH)S(CH)-, -CH(CH)SO(CH)- or -CH(CH)SO(CH)-, Ris identically or differently an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 5 or a hydrogen atom, and n is 0 or 1}. |
