摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device which has both an effective support structure as an isolator and a damping force as a strong damper.SOLUTION: Upper and lower sides of a linear or annular coil spring 1 which is disposed horizontally are held between a lower abutment and an upper abutment 4, and on a rolling track of the coil spring 1 which is generated in upper and lower contact parts by earthquake vibration, a rolling groove 5 is provided of which the cross section is arcuate. The lower abutment 3 is fixed to a bed-sill 6 and the upper abutment 4 is fixed to a foundation 8 of a building structure to be supported. A wire of the coil spring 1 in a direction where the bed-sill 6 is moved by an earthquake, is rolled within the rolling groove 5 and moved without being rotated in a right-angle direction, and while fixing the upper side thereof and deforming the lower side by tilting the coil spring 1. In the middle, the wire is moved while combining the rolling and the deformation although the ratio becomes different in accordance with the position. By repeating the motion in both directions, a base isolation device has both required support and damper effects.</p>
