PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique advantageous for controlling a reading mode and a pause mode of pixel signals of a solid state image pickup device.SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device comprises: a pixel array; plural column signal lines; and plural power sources arranged corresponding to the plural column signal lines and flowing currents according to electric potentials of respective control terminals through the plural column signal lines. In a first mode for reading signals from the pixel array, when an output of a first electric potential generation part is connected to the control terminal to make the electric potential of the control terminal into the first electric potential, a larger current than when the electric potential reaches the first electric potential is supplied to the control terminal before the electric potential of the control terminal reaches the first electric potential. |
