A detaching device for detaching from a first region of a flexible sheet piece a second region of the flexible sheet piece which is outside of the first region, said flexible sheet piece being a sheet piece wherein the second region is connected to the first region by an adhesive layer provided on one surface side of the first region and second region in a state in which the second region is cut off from the first region. The detaching device includes an attachment surface, a chuck unit capable of chucking the second region of the sheet piece, and a moving device for separating the second region of the sheet piece from the first region of the sheet piece by moving the chuck unit and the attachment table relative to each other in the direction of the normal to the attachment surface in a state in which the second region of the sheet piece is chucked by the chuck unit.
