摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power saving effect and to return from a power-saving mode to a normal mode at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus which operates in the power saving mode includes: duplication means (S106) of duplicating at least predetermined information required for returning to the normal mode out of information in a volatile memory to a nonvolatile memory; backup means (S107) of placing the volatile memory in a backup state for a predetermined time by a capacitor power source; first return means (S114-S116) of returning to the normal mode based upon the information in the volatile memory when a return event for a return from the power saving mode to the normal mode occurs within the predetermined time; shift means (S112) of stopping supplying electric power to the volatile memory (S109) and shifting to a low-power mode when the return event does not occur within the predetermined time; and second return means (S124-S125) of returning to the normal mode based upon the information in the nonvolatile memory if the return event occurs in the low-power mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
