PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that can perform defrosting of an outdoor heat exchanger while continuing heating operation. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner 300, a flow path switching valve 51 has a switching mechanism for performing switching to one of a first mode, a second mode and a third mode. In the first mode, a refrigerant which enters from an expansion valve 7 is made to flow into both a first outdoor heat exchanging section 46a and a second outdoor heat exchanging section 46b. In the second mode, the refrigerant entering from the expansion valve 7 is made to flow into the first outdoor heat exchanging section 46a and the refrigerant entering from a bypass path 61 is made to flow into the second outdoor heat exchanging section 46b. In the third mode, the refrigerant entering from the expansion valve 7 is made to flow into the second outdoor heat exchanging section 46b and the refrigerant entering from the bypass path 61 is made to flow into the first outdoor heat exchanging section 46a. A controlling section 8 switches the flow path switching valve 51 to the second mode or the third mode when performing defrosting operation, and opens an on-off valve 71 of the bypass path 61.
