Device comprises: a receiving device (2) for receiving a plate (6) with at least one opening (13) and a processing chamber wall (10), where the plate and the processing chamber wall form a processing chamber which is open on the side opposite to the plate; and a cover for the processing chamber wall, to form closed processing chamber, where the cover and the processing chamber wall are designed to be substantially sealed together when used as intended. The receiving device can be attached to a fixing device (1), where receiving device is pivotally mounted to the fixing device. The plate with at least one opening comprises at least two parts which can be folded in the gravitational direction about a common axis when used as intended. An independent claim is also included for treating corn, preferably grain, pseudo-grain, oil seeds, or legumes using the device, comprising (i) filling the closed process chamber of the device for the treatment of corn with grain and water, (ii) soaking the corn in water, (iii) germinating of the grain under conditioned air supply, (iv) optionally kiln drying the corn to a moisture, (v) optionally fermenting the grain, and (vi) discharging the grain treated in the previous steps from the closed process chamber, where the process steps (iv) and (v) are replaceable in the chronological sequence, and the step (vi) is performed by opening the process chamber and pivoting the receiving device relative to the fixing device and/or, and by opening of at least two parts which can be folded in the gravitational direction about a common axis. |
