Provided are an apparatus and a method for supporting creation of an image for a portable terminal, which can allow an image creation program executed by a work terminal to convert an image for the portable terminal transmitted with a wireless communications protocol into a USB socket communications protocol and to transmit the image to the portable terminal. The apparatus for supporting creation of an image for a portable terminal includes: a work terminal supporting unit which is arranged in the work terminal to intercept an image for the portable terminal transmitted from the image creation program with the wireless communications protocol, and to convert the image into the USB socket communications protocol and to transmit the image; and a portable terminal supporting unit which is arranged in the portable terminal connected to the work terminal through a USB cable to receive the image transmitted from the work terminal supporting unit, and to display the received image on the portable terminal.
