PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device that reduces moving speed of an article without complicated conveyance control.SOLUTION: The transfer device 1 includes: a main conveyor unit designed to convey a conveyance object 26 placed on a conveying surface in one direction; and a sub conveyor unit arranged at the same area as the main conveyor unit, the sub conveyor unit being designed to convey the conveyance object 26 placed on a conveying surface in a direction crossing the conveying direction of the main conveyor unit. One of the main conveyor unit 2 and the sub conveyor unit is a roller conveyor. At least one of the rollers belonging to the roller conveyor is a braking roller equipped with a conveyance object braking means. The conveyance object braking means is designed to prevent the conveyance object 26 from being moved at least in the direction crossing the conveying direction of the roller conveyor by a frictional force acting between the conveyance object 26 and the braking roller. |
