425,555. Air rifles. HILL, A. H., 68, Holliday Road, Handsworth, Birmingham. Sept. 23, 1933, No. 26263. [Class 119] A cocking lever 13 is adapted on movement in one direction, the outward direction about a pivot 14, to compress a spring 23 through a link 20 and a piston 22, and in the reverse direction to give further compression to the same spring by means of a ramp 13<a> on the lever pressing against a roller 25 on a plunger 24<a>, the piston 22 after its compression stroke being held by its notch 22b in engagement with the nose of the sear 26 the rear end of which is caught by the shoulder 27<a> of the trigger 27. When the cocking lever 13 completes its return movement, it deflects a catch 15 which unlocks a shoulder 27b on the trigger. The cocking lever is locked in its folded position by the hooked end 16<a> of a spring catch 16, which can be released by finger pressure on a projection 16b on the catch. The breech bolt 28 is constructed as described in Specification 425,755.
