<p>A fruit and vegetable corer unit 1 comprises a wheeled housing, a waste container 8, a gearbox 4 mechanically linking to an axle of the wheeled housing, a fruit and vegetable retainer 3 , a cutting unit 9, a peeler (13, figure 3) and a corer (14, figure 3). In use, a food item, such as an apple, is located on the retainer 3 and the wheeled housing is moved along a surface causing the wheels 6 to rotate and in turn drive the gearbox 4, the food retainer 3 and the screw 7 rotate drawing in the sliding cutting unit 9. When the food item meets the sliding cutting unit the food item is peeled, cored and cut into spirals. The peel and any juice is collected in the waste container / peel tray 8, which may be removed for cleaning.</p> |
