The invention relates to a sideslip mechanism of a decorative needle bar of a sewing machine, capable of preventing oil leakage of a longitudinal shaft due to damage of oil seal under abnormal heating of a metallic shaft. In the sideslip mechanism, a limit component 34 in a head 3 is fixed on a presser guide 33 so that a stop portion 34a on the limit component 34 abuts against the upper surface of an arm 39a on a decorative crank 34a. The upward movement of the decorative crank 34a is then restricted by the stop portion 34a. |
