PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether an operation detection object apparatus is operated in an easily installable simple configuration. SOLUTION: An equipment operation detection system 1 is provided which includes a signal generation device 14 connected to a predetermined electric apparatus 13b, and an equipment operation detection device 15 for detecting whether the electric apparatus 13b is used according to a signal of a predetermined frequency transmitted to a power line 12 by the signal generation device 14 while the electric apparatus 13b is in operation. The signal generation device 14 generates a predetermined voltage in response to an electromotive force induced by electromagnetic coupling with a current flowing through the power line 12 while the electric apparatus 13b is in operation, and transmits the signal of the predetermined frequency to the power line 12 via the generated voltage. The equipment operation detection device 15 records beforehand information indicating a frequency corresponding to the electric apparatus 13b, and detects whether the electric apparatus 13b is used according to whether or not a signal component of the predetermined frequency is included in a supply voltage.
