PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting device utilizable for sealed boxes having various shapes. SOLUTION: An axenic culture system 1 includes an isolator 2 equipped with a first opening part 2b and a first lid body 12, an incubator 3 equipped with a second opening part 3b and a second lid body 13, and the connecting device 4 for communicating internal spaces thereof. The connecting device includes a sealing means 14 for forming a decontamination space S1 surrounding the first lid body and the second lid body and isolated from the external atmosphere when the isolator and the incubator are linked, a lid body-linking means 15 for linking the first lid body and the second lid body, and a decontamination medium-feeding means 7 for feeding a decontamination medium to the decontamination space. The inner space of the isolator and the inner space of the incubator can be communicated by integrally opening the first lid body and the second lid body in the state of the decontamination space decontaminated by the decontamination medium.
