<p>The present invention, by providing a sensor capable of detecting the removal of a card inlet fitting, makes it possible to detect the removal of the card inlet fitting and to reliably prevent the occurrence of illegal activities such as card skimming and so forth. An automatic transaction device that a user operates to execute transactions has: a card inlet fitting (16) in which is formed a card inlet (16a) into which the user's card is inserted; an input unit by which the user inputs a personal identification number used for authenticating the identity of the person; a case to which the card inlet fitting (16) is removably mounted; a sensor which is capable of detecting the removal of the card inlet fitting (16) from the case; and a control unit which controls the operation of the automatic transaction device. If the sensor detects that the card inlet fitting (16) has been removed from the case, the control unit renders the automatic transaction device inoperable.</p> |
