<p>The present invention relates to a touch screen input system and method for the visually impaired. The present invention is to quickly and accurately input keys, such as Hangul, alphabets, numbers, symbols, etc., provided on the touch screen using a touch screen in which the visually impaired person cannot check the boundary of input standards even with tactile sensation. The touch screen input system for the visually impaired includes: at least one keypad (10) which is formed with a reference point (11) and a plurality of directional points arranged to have predetermined directionality on a peripheral part around the reference point, and is formed on the touch screen; a memory (20) which stores a plurality of drag patterns for passing the reference point and one or more directional points more than one time, and input keys which correspond to the drag patterns and include Hangul, foreign languages, numbers, symbols, and menu information; and a controller (30) which detects a user′s drag pattern, compares the drag pattern inputted by the user with the input keys stored in the memory, and inputs an input key corresponding to the drag pattern selected by the user. The touch screen input method for the visually impaired can input an input key corresponding to a drag pattern by inputting the input key including Hangul, foreign languages, numbers, symbols, and menu information using a plurality of drag patterns formed by touching the reference point and a plurality of directional points arranged to have constant directionality on a peripheral part around the reference point.</p> |
