PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of detecting an HDR image group from input image data. SOLUTION: An image detection device of the present invention comprises: representative luminance value calculation means for calculating, for each frame of input image data, a representative luminance value representing the frame; period determination means for determining whether interframe variance of the calculated representative values has periodicity; and HDR detection means for detecting an HDR image group which is plural images obtained by imaging the same subject with different exposures from the input image based on variation of representative luminance values in one period when the interframe variance of representative values is determined to have periodicity, in which the HDR detection means calculates the absolute value of the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the representative luminance values in one period, and when the absolute value of the difference is equal to or greater than a first threshold, determines that plural frames in the corresponding period are frames in the HDR image group.
