PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a taximeter for preventing a passenger's misunderstanding on a mileage rate and a fixed rate and for improving driver's operability. SOLUTION: A display 17 comprises a first display area 17a and a second display area 17b that displays smaller graphic characters than the first display area 17a. When a control unit 15 switches to a fixed rate, a CPU 11 shows the fixed rate on the first display area 17a and a serially calculated actual rate on the second display area 17b, updating serially.
