PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol signal conversion circuit and symbol signal conversion method capable of performing the normality confirmation of a symbol signal by recording symbol mapping data included in the symbol signal by a general purpose recorder. SOLUTION: A symbol signal conversion circuit 12 includes: a bit coupling part 21 for coupling symbol mapping data included in a symbol signal with a synchronous bit corresponding to a super frame synchronous pulse, so as to output a data block; and a TS packetization processing part 24 for generating an MPEG2-TS packet which is obtained by mapping the data block to a payload part.
