PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser fusion splicing tool for reducing an alignment error between optical fibers.
SOLUTION: The laser fusion splicing tool includes: a V-grooved substrate for aligning and storing optical fibers and guide pins; a stage for holding the V-grooved substrate; a retaining plate for fixing the optical fibers in V grooves; an arm for holding the retaining plate; a hinge mechanism revolving shaft for opening/closing the arm; a magnet provided in the stage; and a magnetic force adjustment screw provided on the arm. The optical fibers are held in gaps between a bottom surface of the retaining plate and top surfaces of the optical fibers by closing the arm, and magnetic force generated between the magnetic force adjustment screw and the magnet can be adjusted by adjusting an amount of press-in of the magnetic force adjustment screw. The arm has a hole in which the hinge mechanism revolving shaft can be stored, and a gap tolerance is set between the hole and the hinge mechanism revolving shaft so that the arm is inclined in accordance with variation in installation height between the guide pins.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
|
