Adaptive video distribution method for a multi projectors system

A method and control device for distributing source images to video projectors of a multi projectors system in which the control device and the video projectors are interconnected by communication links. Information representative of the transmission capacity of each communication link 520 and/or the availability of each video projector 510 of the multi projectors system is first determined and the source image split into sub-images according to this determined information 525. The display parameters (such as zooming value, lens shift value and position and size of the sub-image) required for each sub-image are then determined so that the source image is preserved 530. The sub-images and display parameters are then transmitted from the control device to the corresponding video projectors through the communication links 535. The method enables continued display of the original source image even when one of the sub-images is lost either through loss/degradation of one of the communication links or through the loss of one of the video projectors.
