PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous hollow silica particle having a particle diameter of a nano size, a hollow inner part, and a through hole having a sufficient size in a shell composed of a silica layer. SOLUTION: The porous hollow silica particle includes a shell composed of a silica layer and an average particle size of 10 nm or more and 1,000 nm or less, wherein the shell has a through hole having an opening whose shape is at least one selected from circle, ellipse, and polygonal shapes.
