A rapid setting cement particularly useful for sealing leaks in fuel containers, pipes, and the like, comprises a metal powder and a solution of a cellulose derivative, with the addition of a rapidly evaporating organic compound such as ether or ligroin, the quantity of metal powder being about 20 to 30 per cent of the whole.
