<p>A method for performing DNS resolution in a network, in particular in a content distribution network (1), comprising a client terminal (2) sending a DNS request towards a DNS nameserver (3), and the DNS nameserver (3) responding to the DNS request by sending a DNS response towards the client terminal (2), is characterized in that within the DNS request information about the client terminal's (2) location together with dynamic status information of the client terminal (2) is conveyed to the DNS nameserver (3), wherein the DNS nameserver (3) generates the DNS response depending on said conveyed information about the client terminal (2). Furthermore, a corresponding content distribution system (1) and a client terminal (2) for deployment in a content distribution system (1) are disclosed.</p> |
