The present invention provides a diesel type aircraft ground power unit (AGPU) which has a diesel engine with improved power and a generator with maximized capacity in an existing ground power unit in order to quickly correspond to the change of the aircraft ground power system. The improved ground power unit comprises 1) an engine unit; 2) a generator unit; 3) a chassis unit; 4) a brake unit; and 5) an electronic unit (a switch box and a control panel). The rough arrangement of the ground power unit is illustrated in a schematic diagram (figure 4). The aircraft ground power unit is capable of supplying the AC power of 115V/200V and 60 kVA of nameplate rating at 400 Hz of frequency, the DC power of 20 kW of nameplate rating at 28 Vdc, and the peak current of 2000 A for three seconds. The aircraft ground power unit is designed to encode problems, which occur during the operation of the generator, as errors in order to enable a user to quickly correspond to the problems and correct the errors. |
