A mobile terminal and a method for controlling a mobile terminal are disclosed. The mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention can select at least some of a text if a preset input on a specific region where the text is displayed is received, analyze content of the selected text to search for a relevant application, and display a first popup window including an item corresponding to the searched application; and also can extract a keyword by parsing the selected text in consideration of input entries of a specific application if an input for an item corresponding to the specific application is received, and display a second popup window including information related to the keyword.
