A three-dimensional display object 5 has a plurality of planar structural members 20 arranged on a support 10. A flexible skin 40 is wrapped around the structural members 20 and conforms to the contours formed by the structural members 20 to create the surface of a 3D object. The outside of the skin 40 is printed with advertising information as required. The support 10 is preferably a pole, which may connect to a stand 50 via aperture 55. The structural members 20 can be positioned at predetermined locations on the support. In one embodiment, a plurality of spacers in the form of elongated tubes fit around the support pole and each secures into a structural member via a notch. In another embodiment, bolts and corresponding holes are used to secure the structural members. In another embodiment, inextensible flexible members such as cables are used to position each structural member. |
