PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst having a long service life capable of suppressing deposition of carbon upon a reaction.SOLUTION: The catalyst includes a carrier made of a carbon material, nickel which is a catalyst component carried by the carrier, and an alkaline earth metal carried by the carrier. When analyzed by a temperature-programmed desorption method using hydrogen, the ratio X/Y wherein X is a desorption amount of hydrogen in a first temperature region of 400 to 550°C and Y is a desorption amount of hydrogen in a second temperature region of 550 to 800°C is X/Y<1. |
