<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a communication circuit from incorrect wiring between an outdoor unit and an indoor unit, and to improve communication quality. <P>SOLUTION: High withstanding-voltage photocouplers capable of cutting off commercial power source, are used as photocouplers 25, 35 used in transmitting information. Thus, breakdown and damage of controllers 24, 34 due to incorrect wiring can be prevented even when a signal wire and a power wire are incorrectly connected by mistake. Further, a base band signal is generated for driving the photocouplers 25, 35 while considering an operation time of the photocouplers 25, 35.
