<p>The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a power conversion device having a compact circuit for protecting switching elements. The power conversion device is provided with: series-connected capacitors (111, 112) connected between a positive electrode DC terminal (107P) and a negative electrode DC terminal (107N) for conducting a DC current; a main circuit (113U) having an AC terminal (108U) for conducting an AC current, the main circuit (113U) being connected between the positive electrode DC terminal (107P) and the negative electrode DC terminal (107N); and a gate drive circuit (400) for generating a control signal (Gsig) for controlling each of a plurality of switching elements provided to the main circuit (113U). The main circuit (113U) has four switching elements (T1U, T2U, T3U, T4U) connected in series with the same polarity. The threshold value Vth in the switching elements (T2U, T3U) connected to the AC terminal (108U) is lower than the threshold value Vth in the switching elements (T1U, T4U) connected to the DC terminals (107P, 107N).</p> |
