PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet feeding device which can suppress a separating noise without damaging paper passage performance. SOLUTION: The sheet feeding device including a sheet feed roller 20 and a friction member 25 that comes in contact with the sheet feed roller 20 by a predetermined pressure is configured to pick up a plurality of stacked sheets according to rotation of the sheet feed roller 20 in one direction, and feed the sheet while separating the sheets one by one at a nip part between the sheet feed roller 20 and the friction member 25. The sheet feeding device includes guide plates 35 for guiding the sheet fed from the nip part. The guide plates 35 are adjacently arranged on both sides of the sheet feed roller 20 in a position where the sheet feed roller 20 does not overlap the guide plates in a sheet feeding direction (c), and the plates 35 are configured to, on the downstream side in the sheet feeding direction (c) of the nip part, project toward the sheet feed roller 20 from the extension line in the sheet feeding direction (c) of the nip part.
