<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supply device and a method which can prevent occurrence of extra waiting time when replacing a tray for placing components thereon in a magazine 3 and which can achieve miniaturization of the device. <P>SOLUTION: A component supply device comprises: a magazine 3 in which a plurality of trays 2 for placing components 1 thereon is stocked; a tray transfer mechanism 4 which takes the tray 2 in and out of the magazine 3; and a tray conveyance mechanism 5 which receives the tray 2 taken out of the magazine 3 to a tray transfer position P3 by the tray transfer mechanism 4, and conveys the tray 2 to a predetermined component supply position P1. A tray retreating mechanism 7, which temporarily holds the tray 2 to retreat it from a planar operation range of the tray transfer mechanism 4 and the tray conveyance mechanism 5, is provided at the tray transfer position P3 at which the tray 2 is transferred between the tray transfer mechanism 4 and the tray conveyance mechanism 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
