PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke-tight tape capable of effectively preventing fire source smoke from being diffused in a building even at an early stage of a fire. SOLUTION: A smoke-tight tape 11A is fitted to a gap between partitions in a building, such as an opening/closing door, and expands thermally in the direction of the gap at an occurrence of a fire to block the gap. A band-like bag 13A having a flat cross section is filled with a powdery or pasty thermal expansion agent approximately equally. The thermal expansion agent contains a gas generation agent composition. The gas generation agent composition contains water soluble carbonate (including hydrogen salt), a higher fatty acid, and water as essential ingredients. The higher fatty acid reacts with the carbonate to generate expansion gas for inflating the band-like bag 13A. Thus the band-like bag 13A bulges in its thickness direction to close the partition gap.
