<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of an image forming apparatus by preventing deterioration of productivity due to restriction of sheet deviation correction. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: an image forming unit for forming an image and transferring the image on a sheet; a sheet conveyance unit for conveying the sheet; a deviation correction unit for moving the sheet under conveyance in a passage-crossing direction in preparation for image formation to correct deviation of the sheet; a sheet position measuring unit for measuring a position in passage-crossing direction of the sheet under conveyance; and a control unit for controlling the image formation and the deviation correction. The control unit receives a measurement result of the sheet position measuring unit, performs the deviation correction by the deviation correction unit according to the measurement result, and further performs determination for execution of a returning operation for returning the deviation correction unit to a reference position after deviation correction. According to this, the deterioration of productivity can be minimized while executing the sheet deviation correction, and the productivity can be improved without being restricted by the deviation correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
