The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device having a backlight unit and a method for manufacturing the same, which allow a step compensation tape of a light shielding tape to be replaced with a release paper abandoned from the light shielding tape, and which do not require to use a protective film that is conventionally used. The liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal panel; a light source unit including multiple light emitting diodes to supply light to the liquid crystal panel and a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) which has the light emitting diodes arranged therein and supplies external power to the light emitting diodes, and in which a first marking is printed on one surface thereof; a light guide panel which is arranged to be adjacent to the light source unit and converts light entered from the light source unit to plane light to be traveled toward the liquid crystal panel; a light shielding tape interposed between the liquid crystal panel and the light source unit; a step compensation structure which is mounted in the upper part of the light shielding tape and has a second marking printed therein; a panel guide to cover the side surface part of the light guide panel to support the liquid crystal panel; an optical sheet arranged on the light guide panel and a reflective sheet arranged at the backside of the light guide panel; and a lower cover to receive the light guide panel and the reflective sheet. |
