<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily attaching a handrail to a construction surface with excellent workability. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of attaching a handrail device comprising a handrail 1 and a bracket 2, suspended leg parts 13 are formed on both sides of a long-length handrail body 11 whose upper surface is a handrail surface 12 along the longitudinal direction, and the lower end parts of the respective suspended leg parts 13 are mutually bent inwards to form a horizontal slide shelf 14. The distal end part of the horizontal slide shelf 14 is bent upwards and turned to a raised support piece 15, and the space formed inside the handrail is turned to an engaging slide gap 16. Also, at the distal end part of a support rod 22 projected and formed on a fixing part 21 of the bracket 2, an engaging holding part 23 is formed by providing a horizontal support plate 231 and suspended slide engaging pieces 232 formed at both ends of the horizontal support plate 231.
