<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device wherein the switching element in the inverting unit can be protected against failure effectively when an abnormality occur due to noise, and to provide a protection method of the inverting unit thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply device 1 which supplies AC power of a first frequency and AC power of a second frequency to an induction heating coil 7 includes a converting unit 2 which converts AC power into DC power; an inverting unit 3 which outputs DC power supplied from the converting unit 2 as a time-sharing signal consisting of the AC power of a first frequency and the AC power of a second frequency; and a protection unit 5 of the inverting unit, wherein the protection unit 5 comprises a signal measuring circuit 21 which measures signals susceptible to noise generation every predetermined time; a decision circuit 22 which decides occurrence of an abnormality due to noise based on the values measured by the signal measuring circuit 21; and a malfunction preventive signal generation circuit 23 which stops operation of the conversion unit when the decision circuit 22 decides occurrence of an abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
