PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali metal silicate particle exhibiting excellent solubility even after storage and a detergent composition containing the same. SOLUTION: The alkali metal silicate particle includes a copolymer on the surface and is conjugated therewith. The copolymer has a constitutional unit derived from at least one kind of nonionic monomer whose solubility parameter is equal to or less than 20.0 (MPa)<SP POS="POST">1/2</SP>and a constitutional unit derived from at least one kind of anionic monomer.
