Method for diagnosing a bleed air system fault

An aircraft 30 has at least one engine 12 and incorporates a bleed air system 10. The bleed air system includes one or more sensors such as a temperature sensor 24, a fan speed sensor 26 or a pressure sensor 28. A method 100 of diagnosing a bleed air system fault within a bleed air system includes receiving a sensor signal from the at least one of the bleed air system sensors to define a sensor output 102. The sensor output is compared to a reference value 104 and diagnosis of a fault in the bleed air system is made based on the comparison 106. An indication of the bleed air system fault is then provided.
