A child mattress comprising a first core layer made of springs 201, a second core layer 202 and a sealed, liquid impermeable cover 106. The cover 106 may be formed of a polymeric material with a fabric substrate and be polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane. Cover sheets may be bonded together using thermally or ultrasonically self bondable sheets and seams may have an interposed fabric layer. An antimicrobial covering may be provided on the cover and there may be an outer cover with probiotic containing microspheres. The mattress may have two core spring layers 201 and 202 and a rigid layer made from closed cell foam or coir heat bonded with polyester or nylon. A further barrier layer of foamed polymeric material or felt may be provided which can be adhered to a spring layer using a hot melt adhesive. |
