The apparatus may implement a hybrid per flow/connection and per station uplink (UL) resource allocation to improve UL control efficiency and UL resource utilization. The apparatus may be configured to transmit or receive a resource allocation in a signal that contains an indicator that indicates intended flow information.

1. A method of performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, the method performed in a station, the method comprising:
requesting an uplink resource allocation for at least one flow; receiving an indication that the at least one flow has been added to a group of flows associated with an uplink group resource allocation; receiving an uplink group resource allocation message for the group of flows, wherein the uplink group resource allocation message includes an indication of a plurality of intended flows associated with an uplink group resource allocation; on a condition that the plurality of intended flows includes the at least one flow, transmitting data using the uplink group resource based on the indication of the plurality of intended flows; and on a condition that the plurality of intended flows does not include the at least one flow, transmitting data using an uplink resource that is not the uplink group resource.
