1. A storage device comprising:
a storage medium; and a processor operative to:
receive a logical address;if the storage device is operating in a first mode of operation:
offset the received logical address by a first offset parameter to produce a first offset logical address; andtransform the first offset logical address to a first physical address; and if the storage device is operating in a second mode of operation:offset the received logical address by a second offset parameter to produce a second offset logical address; andtransform the second offset logical address to a second physical address; wherein the received logical address refers to one of two physical addresses in the storage medium depending on whether the storage device is in the first mode of operation or the second mode of operation.
